What is Semax?

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide developed in Russia in the 1980s as a stable analog of adrenocorticotropic hormone fragment 4–10 (ACTH 4-10), with an additional Pro-Gly-Pro extension at the C-terminus to increase enzymatic stability. It is used primarily as a research tool in the study of neuroprotection, cognitive function, and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) signalling. Semax is registered as a medicinal product in Russia but is not approved by the MHRA, FDA, or equivalent Western regulators.

It is supplied by Revial Labs as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder for reconstitution in bacteriostatic water. All product is intended strictly for laboratory research use.
